Eligibility Criteria for BPSC BAO Recruitment 2024

Applicants must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria for the advertised vacancy. Its details are given as.

• Block Agriculture Officer (BAO): Applicants with bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science are eligible for this post.

• Assistant Director (Pannt Protection): Candidates with a plant protection degree from a recognised agriculture or central university are eligible.

• Assistant Director (Agriculture Engineering): To be eligible for this post, the applicants must obtain an Agriculture engineering degree from a reputed agriculture or central university.

• Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer /Deputy Project Director: Anyone aspiring for this post must have a degree in B.Sc Ag.

Age Limit

• As of 1 July 2023, the applicant should be at least 21.
• Meanwhile, the maximum age for general applicants is 37 years.
• Applicants of the reserved category will get a relaxation in the upper age limit.
• BC and OBC applicants of Bihar, aged up to 40, are eligible.
• SC and ST applicants of Bihar may apply up to 42 years of age.

• The authority will charge a biometric fee of Rs 200. But if applicants submit an Aadhar card for their identity, then such applicants are exempted from biometric fees.
• Applications submitted without an application fee are not considered.

BPSC Bihar AO Selection Procedure

• A Two-stage selection process determines whether the applicants are selected or not. Initially, the registered applicants were invited for a written examination. The written exam will comprise three papers.
  • First, for General Hindi (qualifying only),
  • Second for General Knowledge, and
  • The third one is for the specialised subject (two Papers).

• The specialised subject paper will be 200 marks, while the other two will be 100 marks each. The duration of each paper is 2 hours.

• Along with this, the shortlisted applicants undergo a 50-point interview test.

• The overall evaluation of the examination will comprise 75 marks for the written exam and 25 marks for the interview.

• The General Hindi is a qualifying paper. Thus, its marks are exempted from the final merit list preparation.
