Recruiting candidates for the National Defence Academy comes under the Union Public Service Commission. The commission is held responsible for conducting the examination and Recruitment by selection through Interviews. UPSC has released 418 vacancies for the NDA and Naval Academy. The process to Fill UPSC NDA-I Application Form/Fees

The details of the application form for UPSC NDA-I are given below. Candidates are requested to go through it.

  1. Candidates can access the online application form by visiting the official website: https://upsconline.nic.in. Candidates should follow the written instructions to fill out the online form. The fields marked with * are mandatory and should not be left null.
  2. Candidates must note that no changes are allowed after submitting the application form. Therefore, please read the form carefully.
  3. The Interface of the UPSC NDA-1 online application is bilingual i.e. available in both Hindi and English language. However, the form can only be filled in the English language.
  4. The online application contains two parts.
  5. In the first part, the candidate will have to fill basic information about themselves and their families. The picture shown below depicts the information to be answered in the Part-1 of the application process.
  6. The second part of the application form contains the filling up payment details, examination centre, photograph/documents uploads, and finally the declaration.

UPSC NDA-I Application form Eligibility Criteria-:

The candidates who are applying for UPSC NDA-I, must be known with the complete eligibility criteria given below-:

Only male candidates born not earlier than 2ND  July 2005 and not later than 1ST  July 2008 are eligible for UPSC NDA application apply online.

For the verification of the date of birth of candidates shortlisted from written examination has to produce the Matriculation/Secondary school leaving certificate to verify the date of birth.

Candidates should note that only the date of birth available in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate will be considered by the commission.

Candidate should note that once the officials have registered/claimed the Date of birth at the time of admission, no changes will be made afterward.

Candidate should be very careful while entering the date of birth in the respective column of the application form. If found a change in the date of birth in the application form to the original certificate, disciplinary actions shall be taken against the candidate.

  • Education Qualification-:

Army Wing of National Defence Academy- candidate should pass 12 class with a 10+2 pattern or equivalent examination conducted by the State Education Board.

Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy at Indian Naval Academy- candidate should pass 12 class with 10+2 pattern or equivalent with physics and mathematics examination conducted by the State Education Board.

Aspirants, who are appearing for the 12 class with a 10+2 pattern, can also apply for this examination.

  • Physical Standards-:

The National Defence Academy has mentioned the detailed physical Standard needed to qualify the medical test in Appendix-IV of the advertisement generated by the authority. Candidates are requested to go through the detailed notification regarding the UOSC NDA-I 2024.

UPSC NDA 1 Application Registration Fees

Candidates (except SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- either through generating challan at SBI bank or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/MasterCard/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card.

UPSC NDA-I Scheme Of Examination

The examination dates for UPSC NDA-I is on 21 April 2024. There will be an objective type question paper. The mode of the examination will be offline i.e. pen and paper. The written examination comprises two sections i.e. Mathematics and the General Ability Test. The total marks of the examination are 900 marks in which 300 marks are of the Mathematics section and 600 of General Ability. The authority has mandated the provision of negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

UPSC NDA-I Recruitment Selection Process

The selection process for the UPSC NDA-I includes-:

  • Written Examination

The examination pattern of the written examination consists of two papers. Mathematics and General Ability Test. The UPSC NDA-1 examination will be conducted in two shifts. In shift-1 candidates have to attempt the mathematics section and he will get 2hrs and 30 min. whereas in shift-2 the General Ability skill of the candidate is examined.   • SSB Interview

The Interview process is considered to be the arduous part of the whole selection process of the examination. Candidates shortlisted by written examination moves to the interview round. The main motive of the interview is to examine the way of communication of the candidate. Various tasks are assigned to the candidates. The SSB interview is carried out in two stages- the first is the Picture Perception and Descriptive Test and the second stages comprise the Psychology test, Group task, and Interview. Candidates who clear these phases of exams are shortlisted as per the final merit list and are selected for the Armed Forces.
